O-Shot Q & A

What is female sexual dysfunction?

Sexual dysfunction, sexual hypofunction, or problems with sexual performance or sensation, is common in women. Women may experience:

  • Difficulty or inconsistency achieving orgasms
  • Pain associated with sexual stimulation or intercourse
  • Low sexual desire
  • Difficulty getting or staying aroused
  • Vaginal dryness
  • Decreased clitoral sensation

If sexual dysfunction causes stress or anxiety in your life or negatively affects a relationship with your partner, make an appointment with Drs. Antonio and Alekseyeva for an evaluation and ask about the O-shot.

What is the O-shot?

Drs. Antonio and Alekseyeva are trained and certified in the O-shot procedure, which involves an injection made up of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) derived from your own blood.  The PRP is injected into the clitoris and the Grafenberg spot, or G-Spot, where it stimulates the production of new tissue and blood vessels, and improving nerve sensitivity. The eventual result is enhanced sensitivity to the clitoris and G-Spot, thereby improving sexual function

What should I expect during the procedure?

When initially booking the appointment, the Rejuv would send you numbing medication beforehand to apply to the clitoral region at least 2 hours before the procedure. When you arrive at Rejuv Gynecology and Obstetrics for an O-shot, your provider goes over your medical history and completes a physical examination.  They draw your blood, which is then spun in a centrifuge to extract platelet-rich plasma (PRP), the PRP is then injected into the clitoris and the G-Spot.

Your provider injects the PRP into vaginal tissue to stimulate collagen growth and create healthier, more youthful tissue. The entire O-shot procedure, which includes processing your blood and the injection itself, takes less than 20 minutes.

Am I a good candidate for the O-shot?

Your provider lets you know if you’re a good candidate for the O-shot after reviewing your medical history and completing a physical examination. If you have had orgasms in the past but are now experiencing difficulty or inconsistency achieving them, chances are you’ll benefit from the O-shot.

When you are ready to reclaim your intimacy, call for a consultation with the providers at Rejuv Gynecology and Obstetrics today or book an appointment online.
